On comments that I make I have a little blue checkmark beside my name, what does it mean?

Let me see if there is one for me.

It means you’re following that person (yourself in this case, you narcissistic bastard). At least, I’m fairly certain that’s what it means, since it showed up on mine after I followed myself.

Congratulations, you’ve been selected for deletion.

It means you’ve been selected as Oppo’s chap of the month.

That’s bizarre, because I can’t unfilled myself, the button appears then goes away...

Depending on how long you’ve been on Kinja, you used to be able to follow and unfollow yourself. Somebody realized that’s not supposed to happen. Solution? Lazy coding that seems to just hide that follow button on your own profile, just as soon as the page is done loading though.

I “follow” myself so that my recent replies show up on my Kinja dashboard. It’s a convenience thing, especially if I need to correct something before the editing window expires.
